The towns in Italy selling cheap houses

Latronico: Two towns in Italy have begun listing cheap homes online to attract new residents and reverse population declines. One of them is Latronico in Italy's southern Basilicata region.
Carrega Ligure: In Italy's northern Piedmont region, Carrega Ligure is another region offering places for sale online that buyers could feasibly move into.
Upper and lower Latronica: Latronica is divided in two parts: the old "upper" district Capadavutu where most houses on sale are located and the lower newer Capabbasciu area.
Wiggle room: Among houses for sale in Latronico are this one for €25,000. Deputy Mayor Vincenzo Castellano says all prices are negotiable. Average prices sit in the €10,000 to €30,000 range depending on the state of the property.
Property range: Carrega Ligure is currently home to just 90 inhabitants and has plenty of properties for sale, including ready-to-occupy homes, fixer uppers and derelict structures.
Ghost villages: Located on the Apennine mountains, Carrega's surrounding municipality extends for 56 square kilometers (22 square miles) and is scattered across 15 inhabited districts and two ghost hamlets
Peaceful spot: "All you'll find here is a great place to detox and unplug, no pollution and spectacular scenery", says Carrega's former mayor Marco Guerrini, who launched the online housing initiative to help his townsfolk.
