The Will to Power

foreign To is sick those who still have chaos in
their hearts and fire in their bellies those who still have some remnant of the animal and man within them since the
walls of the modern world closing in around them like a zoo all around us we
see the diminishment the leveling and denaturing of man already we are haunted by the ghost of
the coming World in which the Beast and man has been reduced to an insect in
which all of the energy power and potential which our species has stored up for millions of years of evolution
and thousands of years of civilization will have been squandered
everyone has a moral opinion about what must be done yet their morals never
touch upon the root of the problem our problem is not moral degeneracy as many
on the right often characterize it nor is it the cruelty of human nature as
those on the left often suggest those you can see through the jungle of moral
and political opinions know that our greatest danger is that we are developing a societal structure which
restricts diminishes and atrophies life the greatest man of History the greatest
civilizations of man were both cruel and decadent in one way or another our fear
should be that such men in such civilizations may never exist again or
to use the same metaphor as Nietzsche that mankind wants a fertile soil will
become Barren and no longer be able to grow anything great for Nietzsche the foundation of the
universe is war and struggle various conflicting energies which are constantly in flux and flow clashing
against each other and consuming each other yet in this chaotic war of creation there is an order there is the
force or law which we call entropy and Nietzsche called the spirit of gravity
and there are various ordering forces which resisted one of which is biological life on Earth
the vital Essence the Living spirit which is contained within and drives
biological Life as a fundamentally anti-entropic will life seeks to expand
to conquer space to assert its will upon the world and to overcome itself life is
consumption and growth life is the will to power
Greek Religion and Christianity
for Nietzsche Greek religion celebrated the life affirming values of the Carefree conqueror while Christianity
extolled the neurotic life-denying values of the conquered however we are
not concerned with specific religion but with distinguishing life-affirming worldviews and spiritualities which
strengthen us from Life denying ones which poison us I will do this by
contrasting the pre-platonic Greek worldview with the judeo-christian one but at the end of the video we will see
that it's not that simple when contrasting the Greek story of the origin of evil with the Christian one
Nietzsche wrote what distinguishes the Greek notion is the sublime view of
active sin as the characteristically Promethean virtue with that the ethical
basis for pessimistic tragedy has been found the justification of human evil
meaning both human guilt and the human suffering it entails
Prometheus whose name means foreknowledge steals fire from Olympus
to elevate his creation man even knowing that he will be punished for it like
Odin sacrificed his eye for knowledge Prometheus sacrifices himself for the
Arts and Sciences Prometheus justifies sin and higher
Consciousness through his theft of Fire by showing the good which can come from Disobedience and sin though mankind is
punished with Pandora's box and all the suffering which it entails prometheus's theft of fire justifies this suffering
by elevating man above the beasts Prometheus Embraces Life as a tragedy
his punishment having his liver torn out each day by Zeus's Eagle only to regrow
and be torn out again the next is symbolic of the Eternal recurrence of
life not Eternal suffering Prometheus is proof that life returns from destruction
despite the tyranny of time and entropy in contrast Eve's theft is an unwitting
theft Eve lacks foresight and is deceived by the serpent in most
Christian interpretations Eve's theft of the fruit is a disaster which places a
stain upon human nature and all of creation it introduces the unnatural
elements of death and suffering into the world thus the goal of life becomes a
return to the unblemished world before the fall this necessitates a rejection
of this world which is corrupted and fall a rejection of human nature on account
of the evil which we are capable of and finally a rejection of life itself which
is Tainted by death in Will To Power Nietzsche wrote The God on the cross is
a curse on life a signpost to seek Redemption from life
Dionysus cut to Pieces is a promise of life it will be eternally reborn and
return again from destruction the dionysian mystery cult celebrated the
primordial Instinct of Life creation destruction sexuality Dionysus was
closely associated with nature wine Bulls fertility and divine Madness one
of dionysus's epithets is Dionysus elutharios meaning the Liberator because
the Divine ecstasy which possessed his followers freed them from the burden of
self-consciousness Dionysus and his wine bring a re-animalization of man and a return to
Nature freedom from Consciousness and civilization a return to the Primal
Origins of Life at the center of the dionysian Cults was the mystery of
rebirth through death infant Dionysus was Torn to Pieces by the Titans but he
was born again in various ways according to the differing accounts this gives him
his epithet dymator meaning twice born Dionysus represents life's eternal
return from destruction it is this theme of rebirth which connects dionysus's
associations with sexuality nature and death since reproduction is Nature's
solution to death thematically and symbolically Christ is
quite similar to Dionysus but Nietzsche believed that this parallel revealed the fundamental difference in the Pagan and
Christian World Views while Dionysus celebrated the chaotic forces of creation and destruction inherent in
nature Christ points to Salvation in another world Christ also promises life
through death but Christ's life is not The Reincarnation of life in each
generation but the eternal life of the immortal soul in heaven thus Christ
judges both the world and human nature as evil and corrupt because of the existence of suffering death and evil
and Promises salvation from this world in a final victory over death and evil
which will rid the world of suffering and transform the fundamental character of man and the Earth making them good or
in other words nullifying them however while Christianity as a whole has tended
towards the denial of this world it is not quite so simple Nietzsche believed that the origins of
the life-denying values and metaphysics found in most versions of Christianity
began with Plato this might seem odd if you haven't studied early Christian
theology but the early church fathers while rejecting Greek paganism embraced
platonism as the foundation of their Christian worldview since it fit so perfectly therefore According to
Nietzsche Christianity's life-denying worldview also began with the Greeks
further some Scholars argue that the gospels especially John were written
with a literary awareness of euripides play the bakai which was widely popular
in the Greek speaking world at the time the bread wine Flesh and Blood symbolism
of the Last Supper certainly Echoes what we know of the dionysian Cults early
church fathers like Clement were well aware of the similarities between the stories of Isis and Christ and there is
even a Christian Byzantine poem Christus patience made out of fragments from
euripides thus we can see that some interpretations of Christianity appear
more like a continuation of the essence of the dionysian Mysteries rather than a
rejection of the Greek Pagan worldview the important distinction is not
Christian and Pagan but life-affirming and life denying early Arthurian
literature is an example of a life-affirming Christian ethic it celebrates Beauty strength nobility and
heroic virtue and has a mystical view of nature with God being the animating life
force of the world rather than being outside and Beyond nature however once
the priests got a hold of it the ethic of the text began to shift away from a heroic one to a moral one in which the
most heroic characters were made to renounce themselves as evil for their earlier conquests in war and courtly
love life-denying World Views with Priestly moral ethics arise from sick peoples who
are physiologically and spiritually exhausted they shrink from life and
judge it to be corrupted while they are in fact the corrupted ones Priestly
spiritualities seek to make the world moral to make it palatable for their
weak Spirits since Nature has rejected them as failures they reject the world
as immoral the world is in the wrong not I they say in contrast life-affirming
World Views with heroic ethics arise from healthy peoples who believe that
life though fundamentally tragic is also beautiful heroic spiritualities are
founded on the principle of contending with the world and engaging violently and playfully with the Game of Life
which includes both creation and destruction life and death the world is
struggle and strong Healthy Spirits Embrace this struggle it is absolutely
vital that you cultivate a life-affirming worldview and heroic ethic within your heart
[Music] Nietzsche sought to revive the Pagan
Progressivism vs The Natural Order
Spirit to go beyond the political and Beyond the moral by allying oneself with
the impulse in life which reaches towards the Heights in his ideas of the
will to power the Eternal recurrence and the spirit of gravity Nietzsche hits
upon three fundamental metaphysical principles of pre-platonic Hellenic
paganism as heraclitus writes all is flux this is the fundamental Pagan metaphysic
and the basis of Nietzsche's Will To Power the world is most fundamentally
contending energies vying for power the world is an endless cycle of creation
and destruction the lion eating the lamb One Planet consuming another this means
that all things including time are cyclical just as the world was born out
of the subjugation of the primordial forces of chaos these forces will one
day return to destroy the world skull will consume the Sun but after Ragnarok
the world will be reborn again everything including the soul or life
force of a person returns eternally this conception of the universe
completely refutes progressivism because there can be no progress in a cyclical
world the world tends towards chaos disease disorder there is a powerful force in
the world call it entropy or the spirit of gravity which aims to pull all things
down to level everything but there is also a force in nature something within
life which aims at the opposite which aims at the heights at the creation of
something powerful strong and beautiful this impulse is the will to power and it
finds its highest expression in the Greek gods and heroes the fundamental metaphysic of the Pagan
universe is struggle or in other words War but not the industrial Wars of the
20th century heroic War powerful Warrior Kings contending with each other to be
the best such war is an allegory for the Divine trauma of life in which Nature's highest
types are sacrificed Iliad which could be considered to be
the Bible of the Greeks is such an allegory in the tragic worldview man is bound by
Fate human nature and the divine order of the world those who violate the
natural order of the world like Oedipus bring about their own destruction after
the death of his friend Achilles nourished by nectar and Ambrosia which
is the food of the Gods enters into a Divine Berserker rage he Slaughters the
Trojans and is about to sack Troy single-handedly against the will of the
Gods and fate when Apollo intervenes he taunts Achilles saying why are you
chasing me why waste your speed son of pilius you are mortal and I am a
deathless god Achilles ascends to near godhood and almost defies the will of Fate but
ultimately he succumbs to his mortality even god-like Achilles is insignificant
when faced with the Divine powers of the universe however this is not a nihilistic Outlook
within the constraints of Fate human nature and the natural order of the world something can be achieved but this
something is not a fundamental transformation of the world and human nature it is the creation of higher
types of men higher states of being and higher ways of life like Prometheus with
great sacrifice and great suffering man can touch the Divine
monotheism's conflict with the Pagan worldview such as linear time and its
views on human nature stem from the fact that monotheism Finds Its God outside of
nature this however allows us to see that the true conflict is not between
monotheism and paganism but between the natural perspective which all of
humanity seems to have harbored until relatively recently and an anti-natural
perspective many sects of monotheism find their God in nature upholding the
natural order this is especially the case insect of Christianity in which the
Pagan influence is strong however the common judeo-christian perspective is
that God is beyond nature and created the world as perfect and just without
death sickness or evil the world has become corrupted through man's sin the
world is Fallen this is the philosophical basis of all
progressivism that matter and human nature are corrupt and that we must strive for the end of all strife and
inequality in creation that we must strive for the paradise at the end of
linear history in which the lion will lay down with the lamb from this
perspective the natural order of the world is corrupt not sacred and we must
work to progress towards the Kingdom of Heaven whose Advent brings a total
Destruction and even inversion of the natural order and of human nature we can
see that the beliefs of modern leftists arise out of this anti-natural perspective which although secularized
preserves the same fundamental presuppositions Nietzsche sought to revive the Pagan
worldview but he also retains the judeo-christian idea of a goal in
history or Beyond history he thus creates a progressive or goal-oriented
Pagan philosophy in Christianity Nietzsche saw a great
regression and degeneration of mankind and therefore finds his idea of progress
in a reversal of Christian values or a rediscovery of classical Pagan values
yet Nietzsche says that Christianity was useful in disciplining the European
Spirit but how exactly it disciplined us to aim for a goal
which for the Christians was Christ and for Nietzsche is the Ubermensch
Nietzsche wrote Nature uses illusion to obtain her objectives the true goal is
concealed by a deluding image we stretch our hands out towards this image and
nature reaches its goal through our deception Nietzsche's Uber match is the deluding
image which we must Chase to achieve Nature's objectives the true goal a
creature of beauty power and supreme Health a Superman like blazing Achilles
to those who are still undomesticated and unbroken those who still hear The
Whispers of nature the Superman comes like a dream just beyond memory a
fleeting thought a glimpse of something magnificent a feeling of power
to recall this memory and reignite the flame of this ancient dream one need
only look to what the Ancients believed the Spartan would have laughed at the
idea that the domestication and denaturing of man is progress
they believed in the Divinity of Nature and of the body the Divinity of struggle and competition
in their blood and in their souls these men wanted to be powerful beautiful
careless and strong they desired to be like the gods and I am convinced that
when this dream Beyond memory is reignited it will break the totalitarian
grip of the life haters like a wildfire tearing through a dead wood a spirit of
Achilles will erupt again into modernity [Music]
[Music] imagine the sport in hoplites in blazing
The Warrior Aristocracies of Europe
armor running at full speed towards the enemy Spear and shield and hand muscles
gleaming Under the Sun imagine the Vikings massive blonde beasts with waves
breaking over the prows of their dragon ships off to find glory and new lands
imagine the medieval knights in their Shining Armor atop massive battle horses
clad and bright Reds and greens streaking like comets over the green
fields in action box parcel when young parcival sees a knight for the first
time he thinks he sees an angel and indeed these men must have seemed like
Superman demigods among Mortals it sometimes comes as a shock to me when I
realize that such men really did exist and could perhaps again the makings of
such men might be among you or among your sons and grandsons
when it seems that the lower types are winning that all life is being poisoned
and pulled down by the spirit of gravity we can look to the ancient heroic cultures the Greeks the Vikings the
Knights of Arthurian Legend So that we might revive their heroic values and
attitudes in modernity to understand ancient Greek heroic culture we must
look to the Iliad the achaeans are a collection of warrior
Kings and their armies laying Siege to Troy Achilles is one of these Kings he
values loyalty and honor Above All Else Achilles Divine rage is induced by the
death of his friend patroclus after avenging patroclus's death even
knowing that doing so will seal his own Achilles promises patroclus's ghost that
their bones will be buried together this is a man who honored Brotherhood loyalty
and Glory above everything even his own life
it was this kind of Brotherhood which was integral for falling's Warfare and
which allowed these Spartans to Excel on the battlefield to understand the values
of the ancient Greeks we can also look to the story of hippoclides as recounted
To Us by Herodotus hippoclides was an Athenian nobleman who gathered with the
other noble men to compete for the hand of the daughter of King kleisthenes such
a competition which was common in the Greek World already shows us that the
Greeks valued Beauty athleticism and wit when considering marriage Herodotus
writes that hippoclides was proving himself to be the best in the suitors competitions but during a feast he got
drunk and began to dance on his hands to the flutes exposing himself to this
kleistenius said Son of tessander you have just danced away your marriage but
Hippocrates simply replied hippocalities doesn't care or literally
there is no care for hippoclities this incident perfectly illustrates what
Nietzsche meant when he spoke of life in abundance hippoclities excels at the
games and customs of the noblemen but he is not confined by them like some stuffy
Aristocrat he is careless and mocking striving to be the best yet unconcerned
with Petty gain the Norse like the Greeks were a heroic seafaring people
with a thirst for adventure and Glory the Vikings were a cast of warrior
noblemen the Norse didn't send the common people to war but rather the most
noble showing their willingness to sacrifice the best and strongest among
them this again is a sign of life in abundance the Vikings shared a similar
heroic ethic to the Greeks they valued honor Freedom loyalty and Beauty but
what stood out about the Vikings was their carelessness and humor in the face of death
in The volsunga Saga Ragnar is captured by the English king Ayla and thrown into
a snake pit Ragnar says to Ayla the young Pigs Would squeal if they knew the
state of the old boar this is both a humorous remark and a threat about the
Vengeance of his sons who indeed would return to avenge his death and in the
Croco Mall the supposed death song of Ragnar his final words are
death is not to be feared I wish to make an end the DC are welcoming Me Home the
ones Odin has sent me from valhall I shall gladly drink ale with the Gods in
the high seat hopes of Life are past I shall die laughing
and I welcome the Valkyries to summon me home
finally let us look to the chivalric knights as described in Arthurian literature in critian's Lancelot a
mysterious Knight who could be understood as death or as the king of the Celtic underworld captures Guinevere
and is holding her prisoner in the Kingdom of Gore I'm summarizing heavily
here but Lancelot sets out to free her and in order to do so must get into a
card driven by a dwarf this is extremely shameful because the card is used to
parade criminals and degenerates through the streets so Lancelot hesitates just a
moment before getting in when he eventually succeeds in freeing guanovir who is his lover she is very angry with
him and will not talk to him he thinks this is because he got into the cart and
brought shame upon himself but she reveals that she is angry with him because he hesitated to get into the
cart like Achilles we see a man who cares deeply about honor jeopardizing
his life and his Public Image for the sake of personal loyalty and devotion
for the sake of love however in the later cycles of Arthurian literature the
ones written by priests the knights are made to repent for their deeds of Glory
from the earlier Cycles Lancelot is condemned for the very love which was
His Highest virtue the heroic ethic of the night is replaced by a Priestly one
in which the virtues of Chastity self-sacrifice and humility are imposed
on the characters and the memory of their heroic manly virtue is condemned
in modernity the Priestly type and their values have prevailed these types live
off of sick life life Decline and Decay they need us to be sick but Schwab and
the rest of the managerial Elite are not evil lizard people we tell ourselves
this to make ourselves feel better about our subjugation but the elite are the same types as the desk nerds and Twitter
Warriors they are the botched rebelling against life this is in part what
Nietzsche meant when he said we must go beyond good and evil the best way to
refute the Priestly types of our age is not by fighting them on the battleground of morality but by showing the world
that they are sick physically and spiritually and that their so-called morals and all of their aims are a
result of this sickness A desperate grab at Power morality and politics are
simply masks when they come to beat you over the head with their morals and rules simply laugh and say hippoclities
doesn't care make a mockery and a laughing stock of them expose their small Petty souls and
most importantly shame them by example show them life in abundance show them
the unconquerable Carefree Beauty and health of the free spirit at the sight
of this they will tremble in fear as you grow in power and strength they will
gather around you like flies and vultures but pay no heed to them send
them scurrying with the flick of your Mane disregard their pestering and let
the men of the past serve as examples to live by they will fill you with strength
and courage and perhaps in time Superman will walk
the earth again nature critiqued Darwin's theory of
The Secret War in Nature
evolution for over emphasizing survival as the primary driver of evolution ninja
believed that the will to power was the primary Instinct of life and that it was only when weakened or distressed that an
organism falls back on the Instinct of survival in the gay science nature Road in nature
it is not distress which rules but rather abundance squandering even to the
point of absurdity the struggle for survival is only an exception a
temporary restriction of the will to life for Nietzsche the primary aim of
life was not survival but the accumulation of power of strength of
resources the drive to master one's environment and perhaps most importantly
the desire to discharge one's energy and strength into the world it is only when
life is severely weakened sick injured distressed that it falls into a state of
mere survival and loses the drive the ability the strength to overcome itself
through the accumulation of power Nietzsche's Point can be illustrated by looking at captive life zoos provide all
the conditions for comfortable survive level but in them animals become agitated and restless and even die of
depression because they are unable to fill their will to Life by discharging their powers and seeking out new
territories to master only broken and castrated life submits happily to
captivity ninja also critiqued the idea that Evolution always leads to the
Improvement of a species and that nature selects the fittest in other words the
healthiest and strongest specimens of a species he wrote species do not grow
more perfect the weaker dominate the strong again and again the reason being
that they are the great majority and they are also clever the strong are
always fewer than the weak and the resources required for their survival greater the most powerful magnificent
creatures of History are more likely to have gone extinct because although they are strong they can assumption and
expenditure of energy required for their existence is immense the great beasts of
prey of our time face Extinction while rodents insects and microorganisms would
remain on the earth even in the event of a mass extinction such as the one which
is supposed to have killed off the Dinosaurs the simplest and least complex forms of life are the fittest for
survival but Nietzsche argues that the primary Instinct of life is not survival
it is the will to power this correction of Darwin's theory of evolution or at least the way in which
it was commonly viewed in Nietzsche's time makes it hard to speak of nature as the guiding force behind Evolution I
once heard Jordan Peterson say that the best definition of nature is that which selects referring to natural selection
of course but this kind of language makes nature appear as some sort of divine Force akin to God guiding
Evolution Nietzsche instead viewed nature as it is commonly used as a
mostly useless term because it is too General instead he identified two
primary forces within nature a Will To Power and the spirit of gravity the
spirit of gravity is not only entropy death and Decay it is also the tendency
of life to move towards homogenization the survival and proliferation of small
undifferentiated life forms like prokaryotes because of their ability to survive in diverse and conditions but
there is also an Impulse within life which seeks to defy the spirit of gravity a drive towards Mastery
differentiation power the more of the spirit a life form has the more alive it
seems to us hence why plants seem less alive to us than animals and clams and
insects seem less alive to us than humans ninja believed that when
surveying the trends of History instances of Life Breaking Free from the spirit of gravity were rare he wrote
what surprises me today most when surveying the great Destinies of man is
always seen before me the opposite of what Darwin and his school see or want
to see today selection in favor of the stronger in favor of those who have come
off better the progress of the species the very opposite is quite probably the
case nature rejected the moral view of the world which arose from Christianity
saying that there is no objective good and evil only strong and weak Wills for
Nietzsche Morality In the absolute sense that is opposed to the classical
conception of virtue arose first in weakened life forms as a last resort at
the preservation of life Ninja wrote I assess the power of a will by how much
resistance pain torture it endures and knows how to turn to its Advantage the
healthy will the strong will can endure much hardship and pain and still Embrace
Life while the sick weakened will shrinks from Challenge and pain and
seeks to find comfort in another world thus the sick will must invent morality
as an escape from the world and an attempt to gain Mastery over it from a
position of weakness Nietzsche pointed out that that absolute morality allies
itself with the spirit of gravity because it seeks to restrict life and must necessarily find life which is the
amoral Will To Power in the wrong it must necessarily judge life to be evil
since life needs evil that is death suffering consumption
Etc to continue this philosophy can be seen in traditional interpretations of
Genesis in which death suffering and evil are seen as a result of man's sin
and the cause of his expulsion from the paradise which he was born into thus
immorality is established which rejects the world for the better World Of Heaven
or Paradise which is supposed to have existed before Eve's great mistake brought Perfection into God's perfect
creation at the center of this worldview is a will to nothingness a deep-rooted
nihilism a desire to escape the world to Escape life which is imperfect and
immoral in contrast the Prometheus myth describes human life as beginning in a
state of Brokenness in which man lives in the mud like beasts prometheus's gift
of knowledge in the form of fire is not a curse upon man but a blessing with it
man is able to learn the Arts of Agriculture and civilization and thus Elevate himself above the beasts the
worldview implicit in this story Embraces the will to power and to life symbolized by Prometheus the story says
that man's existence is by default filthy and wretched but that we can
Elevate ourselves above this state by taking bold and daring action in the
world this is the classical idea of virtue which in Latin is etymologically
connected to whis meaning life and we're meaning man the classical conception of
virtue is found in the ideas of Vitality and strength in taking bold and manly
action in the world and thereby bringing power and honor to oneself the Greeks
embraced the will to power and vitality and worshiped the image of the strong
beautiful youthful body as the highest expression of life for the Greeks all
that elevated and strengthened man all that brought him closer to the terrible
power of the Gods was good while all that weakened man and made him sick was
evil they recognized that the Instinct of higher life must be preserved
cultivated and strengthened that they had to struggle against the spirit of
gravity which pulls man back towards a filthy animal life of mere existence for
the Greek hero a life of domestic peace was hateful only in the struggle could
His Highest Potential be fulfilled only buying engaging with the world through manly action and striving to make
himself strong beautiful and Powerful could he overcome the spirit of gravity
which Rules by default by striving towards the heights of Olympus and daring to steal fire from the gods
Prometheus Sanctified the suffering inherent in creation Prometheus said yes
to life and welcomed Zeus's eagle with a glad heart and a defiant brow like
Prometheus we too must struggle against the state of mere survival which prevails in modernity against the spirit
of gravity which pulls us down towards a homogenized broken existence we too must
learn to strive for the heights we have within us a life force and
Physical Culture & the Purpose of Civilization
upwards ascending impulse which has been passed down to us by our ancestors and
before them by an unbroken chain of Life over millions of years when this Force
first took form on this planet it was weak the spirit of gravity still ruled
the spirit of homogeneity and entropy but this Force this will struggled out
of the mud out of the ocean creating ever more beautiful powerful and diverse
forms of life despite the downward pull of entropy your body is the vessel for
this life force this will whose aims are beyond our understanding now imagine
what this Force this Force which transformed a worm into a man could achieve if allowed full expression
within you and imagine what types of beings it would create if over
successive generations to come we aided in the intensification of this life
force this is the true meaning and purpose of physical culture the
tradition of physical culture which we have inherited began with the ancient Greeks and was adopted after them by the
Romans for the Greeks the gods were separated from Man by their beauty their
power and their undying youth the gods were images of what life might look like
if freed from the pull of entropy the heroes of the Greeks were those who emulated the Gods in their prowess wit
and athletic ability those who for a brief and Brilliant life resisted the
spirit of gravity and strove towards the beauty and power of the Divine this is
the aesthetic and spiritual meaning of those ancient statues of the beautiful bodies of gods and heroes they are
images of Life triumphant over entropy life elevated above the animal state of
mere survival the Practical purpose of ancient Greek physical culture and was
to educate the bodies of aristocratic Youth and create men who were excellent in all capacities men who were beautiful
in body and spirit Ready for War and Feats of heroism speaking of Greek
physical culture Nietzsche wrote in Athens Cicero expresses his surprise
that the men and youths were by far superior to the women in Beauty but
would work and effort the male sex had demanded of itself for centuries there in the service of Beauty for one must
not be mistaken about the method here merely training one's feelings and
thoughts is worth practically nil first one must convince the body it is
decisive for the lot of a people and of humanity that one begin culture at the
right place not in the soul as was the Fatal Superstition of the priests and
semi-priests the right place is the body demeanor diet physiology and the rest is
a consequence for this reason the Greeks are still the first cultural event of History they knew they did what was
needed the Greeks understood that educating the mind is not enough the education of the
body is most important since all other things proceed from it the body is the
soil from which Mind and Spirit grow a healthy athletic body will lead to
healthy instincts and a life-affirming worldview when Rome fell the classical tradition
of physical culture was discontinued due to Christianity however interest in
classical culture and the aesthetic appreciation of beautiful bodies re-emerged in the Renaissance and
continued into the enlightenment in the form of neoclassicism in the 1800s
bodybuilding re-emerged as a niche sport but it was only recently that physical culture has re-emerged again in full
force this may be in part due to the internet creating a medium for Beautiful Bodies
to be easily displayed and viewed but I believe it is also in part a reaction
against the ugliness and poor health which proliferates in modernity an
unconscious attempt to reclaim the vital Spirit of the ancients a common argument
against bodybuilding is that it is unnatural I once heard a pastor argue
this in a YouTube video but the exact opposite is the case bodybuilding is the
elevation of nature through the cultivation and Perfection of its raw material the bodybuilding is a natural
argument is useful in revealing the two meanings of the word nature which we
talked about in the previous video when some say nature they mean the default
state of life with this definition we could say that it is unnatural for
bodies to look so beautiful since ugliness and sickness are often the default states of existence for man and
for life in fact life itself is a state of exception death is the default thus
the word nature is better used to mean ascendant life the Instinct and vital
Spirit within biological life which drives it to escape the state of
sickness Decay and mere survival which Rules by default under ideal
circumstances the purpose of civilization is the alleviation of this
state of mere survival for the purpose of the enhancement of human ability and
potential for the project of intensifying the life force by strengthening the Instinct of ascended
life most civilizations fall into a suffocating state which restricts life
and causes it to be weakened however in the rare instances when civilization
fulfills its purpose it gives life-breathing room to set higher aims and goals the re-emergence of physical
culture in the west is a fantastic sign if one has a healthy body a life
affirming worldview will inevitably follow participating in physical culture allows
one to submit to the life force and allow its will to be expressed through
them it also instills in one life affirming values and appreciation for
beauty embracing challenge rather than shrinking from it and an understanding of the hierarchies of nature ideology
cannot fix a degenerating culture since the source of this degeneration is
instinctual what we call degeneration is the weakening of the vital life force of
a people due to a civilization which has failed to protect and strengthen it
while the aim of culture is to mitigate the state of mere survival the pressures
of nature must be replaced by self-imposed pressures like physical and
intellectual education or life in Civilization degenerates to a state of
mere existence which is hostile to all forms of beauty and Excellence all
cultural revivals must begin in the body for it is the source of Life having the
right ideology won't matter if our society is filled with sickly Golems to
whom life is constant suffering due to poor health the body Vitality Beauty these are the
first principles of a flourishing culture the life force within you has been
shaped and strengthened by millions of years of struggle you have inherited this history of struggle in your very
blood it is the history of a war between the spirit of life and entropy a war
against Decay against homogeneity against calcification and ugliness a war
against death since life is constantly in a state of
Morality is Biological
struggle against both its environment and other life forms inevitably some
organisms win at the game of life and some lose some conquer and some are
conquered this applies to human civilization as much as to Nature when
speaking both of individuals and more generally of entire peoples and populations this is why nature broke
down morality into the categories of what he called slave and master morality but what might be better called the
morality of conquerors and the morality of the conquered or even more simply the
morality of winners and losers those who are winning the game of Life are rewarded by life and by the laws and
hierarchies of nature they are rewarded by their bodies with hormones for example more testosterone which fill
them with energy and vitality they are rewarded with better resources and a better diet which makes them strong and
healthy they are rewarded with high quality mates and as a result high quality offspring these winners Embrace
Life and nature and act as a creative outlet for the vital life force within them they embrace the will to power and
having so much energy and vitality at their command they are constantly thinking of ways to expend their power
to build to conquer to compete with each other and to be the best often with
little regard for their own lives they Embrace struggle and challenge since
their spirit is strong enough to Bear it and they Delight in danger and War these
are the types of people who have historically made up the ranks of conquering peoples and ruling castes
such as the ancient Greek Norse and Roman aristocracies they valued Beauty
strength competition all the virtues of ascendant life of healthy life of
conquerors and winners as I've talked about in my previous videos the ancient
Greek idea of virtue was Arete the value of being the most excellent in all
capacities the problem is that not everyone can be a winner in The Game of
Life competition which is the Instinct at the core of Life creates hierarchy
and inequality winners necessitate losers when a people is conquered by
another people they need a new identity to preserve their Collective ego or they would lose all faith in themselves and
give into nihilism this is where the morality of the conquered develops as a
survival mechanism in the face of conquest and failure the morality of the
conquer develops as an inversion of the virtues of the people who conquered them and by proxy an inversion of the virtues
of life and nature which allowed the conquerors to become conquerors in the
first place what this means is that the conquer develop a moral system which helps them endure suffering but which
opposes healthy life rather than face the fact that they have failed in the face of the brutal reality of nature
which would cause them to lose faith in themselves completely they espouse their weakness and their suffering as virtues
in so many beautiful words their morals say nature is cruel for letting them be
conquered the conquerors are evil for expressing their Will To Power and therefore life itself does not deserve
to thrive because for life to thrive it must grow and to grow it must consume
and Conquer they imagine a paradisal afterlife or utopian future in which
there is eternal peace all hierarchies are leveled and in which the moral the timid the weak those who nature does not
favor are rewarded this type of morality as a survival mechanism is actually
extremely effective often when a ruling cast has expelled all of their energy
and their Will To Power is exhausted the lower classes of their society or people
who they have conquered will lead a moral Revolution like the French or communist Revel
these revolutions allow the people who are at the bottom of society to invert the society's hierarchy and place
themselves at the top thus they use morality to conquer those who once conquered them by force the problem
stems from the fact that the morality of the conquered is maladaptive while life
denying morality may help a people survive Conquest in the short term and even become conquerors themselves in the
long term when instated on a societal level a life-denying religion or moral
system causes a society to either collapse into violence and bloodshed or
to slowly Decay from this historical analysis we can see that morality is a
mask for our individual and Collective Will To Power it stems from psychology
and biology recently there have been studies showing that political ideology
can be predicted based off of one's personality using the big five ocean
test and with even more accuracy based off of one's disgust sensitivity even
more alarming is a recently published study that says AI can accurately predict political leaning just by
analyzing a person's facial features and structures recently there was an article
published titled the hunter-gatherer fitness model of political ideology the
opening of the article reads the hunter-gatherer fitness model proposes that an individual's political ideology
is largely determined by the relative level of Fitness in a hunter-gatherer
environment one's ability to survive and thrive in a hunter-gatherer Society is a
leading Factor behind their political preferences this link is an adaptation to group survival and a resource scarce
world and is an unconscious motivator in voting decisions and political activism
the article suggests that those who are less fit for survival in a hunter-gatherer environment based their
political ideology on the distribution of resources and the leveling of hierarchies while the more fit favor
hierarchy again we find the ideas of the Greek arrete and the egalitarian Utopia
contrasted the article cites some rather amusing studies such as upper body
strength is strongly associated with support for inequality pure rated attractiveness and self-perceived
attractiveness has a strong correlation with support for inequality and injecting testosterone causes Democrats
to shift toward conservatism all of this is to demonstrate that morality does not stem from truth reason
or metaphysics immorality's primary function is to justify what we are and
to conceal our Will To Power the nerd values intelligence because he is
intelligent and The Jock values strength because he is strong if given the chance
both would probably organize Society to reward their own strengths
people who espouse the idea that being morbidly obese is in fact healthy and
attractive do not arrive at this position through reason and then decide to become obese because it is the moral
thing to do usually they are obese first and then adopt this position as a rationalization which preserves their
ego turns their weakness into a virtue and even helps them gain social status
the hunter-gatherer fitness model article suggests that the stronger more
attractive in other words more evolutionarily fit individuals prefer competition and inequality because they
know that they will perform well in such competitions and place well in Nature's hierarchies however those who are less
fit for survival are hostile towards ideas of competition and inequality since they would not perform well in a
natural landscape thus they favor ideas of egalitarianism or even an inversion
of Nature's hierarchies again the danger is when our society starts to create
hierarchies which restrict life and select for the worst and least competent
people to be in positions of power we now increasingly are living in a society
in which life denying and anti-natural ideologies are dominating our cultural
political and social spheres and creating hierarchies which punish Excellence if this continues our
civilization will collapse but even worse is the thought that a global ethos
of this kind could be established which would stifle and smother the whole of humanity this problem is compounded by
or perhaps even caused by are increasing poor health chemicals in our Plastics in
our food in our water and in our clothing are disrupting our hormones the
cures which big Pharma offers us often harm more than they heal our diets are
poor quality and low in vital Nutri we live sedentary Lifestyles and
Technology disrupts our natural hormonal and sleep cycles this increase in poor
health naturally leads to an increase in unhealthy psychology just as is the case
with people who were conquered when individuals are punished by Nature due to their poor health they tend to turn
against nature and develop anti-natural ideologies since nature is a source of
suffering for them this is where we get ideas about being born into or trapped in the wrong body or ideas about
escaping biology for digital world or machine bodies this problem is even
further worsened by the fact that we live lives removed from nature from animal life and from our own human
nature and instincts in book 2 chapter 2 of discourses on Livy the Italian
Renaissance philosopher Machiavelli argues that Christianity has made the
Italians of his time weak in comparison with the ancient Romans he writes this
can be seen in many of their Customs beginning with the magnificence of their sacrifices as compared to the modesty of
Our Own in which there is some pomp that is more delicate than magnificent but no
bold or ferocious action in their rights neither pomp nor magnificence was
lacking in the ceremonies but there was in addition the act of sacrifice full of
blood and cruelty and the slaughter of a great number of animals a spectacle
which inspired awe and rendered the men who witnessed it equally awesome virtue
must be embodied concrete and grounded in the often brutal and violent reality
of nature not in abstract opinions the obese individual will not be saved by
justifying their obesity with morality nor will they be saved by taking on for example Christian virtues and being a
kind generous and faithful person sin they will be saved by the virtues of diet exercise and discipline and the
drive to be the best and overcome themselves in pursuit of ideals of beauty strength and vitality this is why
Nietzsche said that we must go beyond good and evil our problem is poor health
and an estrangement from nature which leads to life-denying moral systems and hierarchies which smother weaken and
deform life which make man small meek and resentful this will not be reversed
through a moral Revolution we have to inject our society again with vitality
and to find this Vitality within ourselves instead of asking yourself if
an action or belief is in accordance with your morality religion or ideology
ask yourself does this action or this belief promote vitality and Excellence
Within Me does it work with or against the spirit of life within me now more
than ever it is vital that we establish communities and cultural Pockets which promote life Beauty health strength and
provide natural hierarchies for youth to compete in from the fertile soil of such
communities and cultures we might Again Begin to grow great trees and embark on
great cultural projects and most importantly it is vital that we in the west learn to believe in ourselves again
to believe that we deserve to win and that life deserves to win to believe
that nature is good despite being often harsh and unequal and that our human
nature is good despite being sometimes animalistic and violent through us and
in us the spirit of gravity is Raging a war against death and entropy do you
have the strength of will to choose life it is time for man to fix his goal it is
time for man to plant The Germ of His Highest hope still his soil is Rich
enough for it but that soil will one day be poor and exhausted and no lofty tree
will any longer be able to grow from it alas there comes a time when man will no
longer launch the arrow of his longing Beyond man and the string of his bow will have unlearned to whiz I tell you
one must still have chaos in one to give birth to a dancing star I tell you you
still have chaos in you alas there comes a time when man will no longer give
birth to any Star alas there comes the time of the most despicable man who can
no longer despise himself behold I show you the last man
